Community-Centred

Community centred practice -(grass roots + response based),  acknowledges the influence of context (social, cultural & political/bio psycho social) on individual & collective problems & experiences.

We are a network of  people with similar values, challenges and aspirations.

This is a community of progressive, socially engaged, highly creative beings; of diverse genders, cultures, neural expressions, sexualities, relationship configurations, capacities, skills and kinks.

I'm proud to serve  the communities that have shaped and nourished me. To support legacies of creativity, activism and Queerness.

We rely on each other for support, celebration and accountability. We exchange ideas. We disrupt the performance of therapy with our human-ness and care.

Your life experience is an incredible resource. There are things you know about living that work. That evoke possibilities for a future that doesn't lead people to believe that every human response to societal pressure is a disorder that requires fixing.

Independent  Practice

                  For people

with problems

All Problems Welcome

My work is informed by the needs and feedback of the people I work with.

If you’re open to co-creating a  therapeutic relationship that is reciprocal and transparent, that recognises your expertise and respects your preferences for  a life you can live with, let's connect.

My approach fits under the general umbrella of contemporary, post-psychology, relational, feminist collaborative practice.

These approaches challenge the limitations of medical models in responding to human distress, hardship and suffering.

I'm trained in Narrative Therapy, Transpersonal Art Therapy, Clinical Supervision, Substance Assisted Therapies and Theatre.

Projects

Where art, life and therapy converge.

Be it in the making or the experiencing, art is always a conversation about possibility.

Entertain the possibility of a different perspective, or richer experience when you engage creatively.

We are creatures of the senses.

Art is the impetus for different kinds of conversations where words are welcome to fail.

I engage in personal and collaborative projects  which explore possibilities for heightening positive therapeutic outcomes in creative acts, supporting relational consciousness, and expression over management/regulation/treatment of the self.

I respectfully acknowledge I am living and working on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations.

My practice is situated in a place where cycles of displacement have and continue to occur. I acknowledge the removal of Japanese and Black communities from Vancouver,  & the consequences of gentrification for artists, low income folks and substance users.
